Biophysical profile ultrasound ?
So today is my due date and I had a prenatal he said I was 1cm dilated and gave me a s&s. He sent me for a biophysical ultraasound so he could book an induction date for next wednesday
The ultrasound said baby currently weighs 9lbs 12oz…how accurate is this?
Anyone vaginally deliver a baby of this size or larger..I am having a huge anxiety attack

thats really big!!! I think if that is accurate, vaginal birth will be impossible without tearing alot.
My sister was told that her baby was going to be 8lbs 10oz. But when he was born he was 5lb 2oz. I hear from MANY different women that the U/S was wrong about the weight.
Wow. Good for you! A good friend of mine has had 2 children — the first was 9 lbs, 2 oz, the second was 9 lbs, 10 oz, and she hardly complained about either (and the second progressed so quickly she didn’t even have time to get an epidural!) Hopefully you have the bone structure to get through the delivery in one piece!
But don’t worry — if it looks like it’s not going to happen, the doctor won’t let you split in two — he/she will just proceed to a C-section for yours and the baby’s safety.
The ultrasound I had the day before mine was born said he weighed 8lbs 8oz and he was a pound under so I dont know how accurate it really is. But to reassure you my sister in law gave birth to a 10 pound baby 3 days ago so you will be fine. Don’t stress about it…just makes it worse
my friend just gave birth to an 11 lb baby boy a few weeks ago. She did it naturally.
The ultrasounds can be off a pound or two either direction.
Women have been having babies forever, just trust your body and know that you were made to do this. If you get yourself worked up about it, you will probably be too stressed when it comes time to push and you won’t be as efficient. Just stay calm and remember to breath and focus all your energy into pushing the baby through the birth canal.
Best of Luck!!
Congrats!
Ultrasound measurements are usually pretty off the actual birth weight. I delivered prematurely; my ultrasound weight was 4.25 pounds, my baby weighed 3.10 pounds, so it was almost a pound off! So don’t worry; those are just approximates, you may end up delivering a 7 pound baby just fine (which is the norm, by the way). Congratulations!
Oh my goodness! That is one big baby… at least you can rest assured that he/she is most likely very healthy. When I was born, I weighed 9Ibs 8 oz, so very close to the weight of your baby. My mother gave birth vaginally and she was upset because she had a C-section scheduled a few days coming up, but I was not having it, I was ready to come out.. so she had to push. She said it wasn’t as difficult as she expected and it wasn’t very painful (since she had the Epidural) but she did have to get stitched up for 2 hours because of the breakage when I came out. Also, I was born with a broken vein on my left cheek (because my head was banging into her as she was pushing me out). It is small and hardly noticeable, but even now so many years after my birth, I still have it. I actually like it, I consider it a birth mark! I would say try and relax… it would be best in your case if you did get the Epidural or some sort of pain medication.. a natural birth with the baby that size will most likely be very painful.
