Most common fatigue reasons

Article by Robert Herman

Fatigue can affect people differently causing anything from a mild annoyance to a severe disability. If you are one of the millions of people impacted by this mysterious symptom, you may be wondering what the major fatigue reasons are. One of the most common fatigue reasons is either inadequate or improper sleep or an undiagnosed sleep disorder. It is very important to get a full seven to eight hours of quality sleep for your body to be working at top condition. This includes having your bedroom be a comfortable temperature with a comfortable and supportive mattress and very little light.

Other very common fatigue reasons include poor diet and too much caffeine. Caffeine can prevent you from getting adequate sleep or can cause insomnia while a diet high in sugar or carbohydrates can cause your blood sugar to yo-yo causing sudden bouts of fatigue throughout the day. There are a number of diseases that can also cause fatigue including chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, thyroid disorders and heart disease. If you are pregnant, or planning on becoming pregnant, a healthy pregnancy diet is essential for the health of your baby. A healthy pregnancy diet that is full of all the nutrients required, ensures normal fetal growth and development, as well as maintaining hormonal balances and energy levels in the mother’s body.

The general rule of thumb is that the mother’s diet needs to increase by approximately 300 calories per day while pregnant to account for the extra demands on her body. During pregnancy the mother’s body will increase in size by 40 – 60% but this is natural! It is evidence of a healthy growing fetus. However too much weight gain can be detrimental to both mother and baby, as can minimal weight gain, so it’s important to eat healthily and be monitored regularly by a physician.

Reactive Attachment Disorder

Described in all clinical literature, Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) is a severe and relatively uncommon disorder that can affect children. Characterized by markedly disturbed and inappropriate ways of relating socially, RAD gives way to persistent failure to initiate and respond to most social interactions in a developmentally appropriate way known as the inhibited form or can present itself as indiscriminate sociability, such as excessive familiarity with relative strangers known as the disinhibited form. RAD is caused by lack of attachment with any specific caregivers at an early age (infancy) resulting in the inability of the child to form normal and loving relationships with others. Children with RAD are presumed to have disturbed internal working models of relationships, which may lead to interpersonal and behavioral difficulties at the later stages of their life. It’s important to understand what causes reactive attachment disorder in children, through what symptoms it is recognized, and how it must be treated or dealt with.

Causes Of Reactive Attachment Disorder
RAD occurs when children, right from infancy, have been unable to emotionally connect to the parents or caregivers; reasons being:
