How can i stop myself getting postnatal depression after i have my baby?
Ive had it with my last 2 kids, and i dont want to go through it again, are there any steps i can take now, im 18 weeks pregnant. Other info- no family support, i have a long term partner, ive no close friends as we moved 4 yrs ago to the town were in now and ive not gotten close with anyone.

I’d talk to your doctor about this. Maybe there’s safe medication you can take to prevent it.
You can’t sweetie. It’s hormonal. You can’t stop the hormones. Talk to your doctor.
You might want to talk to your doctor, just to make sure it’s nothing serious. S/he can probably give you something to help.
Maybe you can ask your partner to take a little time off to help you out for a while. Try to relax, and take things easy on yourself. Don’t worry about housework, just focus on you and your baby. Take good care of yourself; eat well and exercise. Also, I’ve noticed that my friends who were not all that happy about having a baby had depression and fussy babies. Try altering your perception on the situation, and maybe that could make a difference.
sweetie, i am afraid you can’t stop it. but i can tell you what helped me. i got myself a support group, social services, healthy families, prenatle programs. this really helped me.
