Is it safe to take prenatal vitamins while taxing Lexapro for anxiety?
I’ve talked to my doctor about TTC but forgot to ask her that question.
Anyone been pregnant while taking Lexapro? What was your experience like?
Yes, my doctor knows I’m taking it…she’s the one who prescribed it! Like I said, I already talked to her about TTC, but didn’t ask if I could take prenatal vitamins. Of course, I wouldn’t just start taking them without my doctor’s approval, I was just wondering, until I can speak with her, if anyone else knew anything about it. I’m not an idiot…
Actually, you CAN take it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, but it can cause problems. Many babies are born healthy & fine & only very few babies are actually affected by breastmilk with Lexapro in it.
For the love of God, doesn’t anyone know anything about this?
Considering no one answered either of my questions & only lectured me…I’m not choosing a best answer.
Well Saz, I wasn’t talking about you directly. Though, you didn’t really answer either of my questions.
Thanks though.

I think its harmful to be taking any sort of medication when TTC. Does your doc know your r taking this medication? I know you are not supposed to be taking anti-depressents or pills like that… so isnt that the same???
I have been on Lexapro, but not when pregnant. Please don’t trust yahoo answers for something as important as this. Your baby is the #1 concern!
Please call your doctor and ask them. Make sure when you have more than one doctor prescribing meds. that you let each one know exactly what other meds. you are on. (and that you are pregnant).
Make a list and carry it in your handbag. Name of med., Dr., and their phone #. Also, add emergency contact #’s example husband, family member #. Just in case…you never know…

You can’t take Lexapro during preganancy or if you’re breastfeeding. It can cause birth defects.
You ask if anyone knows anything about this but also state that you would not take anything without first checking with your doctor so, tbh, what people on here know is irrelevant.
I understand you have anxieties but to seek the advice of non-medical yahoo members and get quite stressed when you don’t get the answer you want is unfair.
You ask a great many questions which is fine and I know that you have been helped but with regard taking medications whilst on prescription drugs is an answer only your doctor can provide.
Good luck and try to relax. If you do get pregnant, your baby will need a mother who can chill and take a step back and not worry about every single thing.
Take care
Hi
I don’t feel that I lectured you at all. I was actually on your side and saying that these individuals are unnecessarily nasty and thoughtless.
All I did advise you to do was double check with your doctor because even if someone here gave you an answer, you have no guarantee that they know what they are talking about.
I feel for you. I am a mum of three who has suffered miscarriage and have two children with severe learning and developmental difficulties.
If you feel I have judged you, like others clearly have, I apologise. I was trying to offer impartial advice, nothing more.
Take care again
Saz
