Just not feeling right, please help….?
I am a 31 year old woman. I have a 9 year old and a 4 month old. I had the baby blues 9 years ago when I had my first child. I then was put on depression meds. I have been on them since. I take Effexor XR 150mg daily. During my most recent pregnancy I took prenatal vitimans which are called Vinate II. My ob told me to finish up the bottle of those vitimans, I have been taking those daily for about 12 months. After I had my daughter I was having issues with my bladder not being strong so my ob had me start taking Oxybutynin, to help straighten the bladder muscles. I take 3, 5mg pills per day, and have been on them for about 3 months. A month ago I was Phentermine 37.5mg for weight loss. I have lost 11 lbs in a month. When it was given to me my blood pressure was slightly high. Doc told me that if I lose some weight hopefully it will go down. I have always had great pressure. I am a little over weight. As time has gone by since I had my most recent child I have had different things and feelings going on with my body. I will say, I know my depression is under control, as I know my body. Now I am experiencing headaches, tight and tense neck and shoulders, leg aches, tired in mid afternoon(even while I am on diet pill), and my mom mentioned that she can see yellowing of my skin below my eyes. NOT the whites of my eyes. I don’t see the yellowing. Any ideas on what could be the problem? I know going to the doctor would be a good idea but…I am a little nervous about that. When my recent child was 3 months old I went to him and asked for the diet pill and he said that he was concerned about giving it to me because of my depression. I felt that I want to get this baby weight off, as that is what would make me depressed! So I went to a weight loss clinic that gave me the meds. I have done a little research and haven’t found much about these meds haveing these types of side effects besides headaches. I am wondering maybe low iron? Maybe something happened when I had my daughter 4 months ago and it is finally catching up to me?? Any thoughts?? Thanks

So you didn’t have any problems before your first child was born, right? Then along comes the blues, and you get diagnosed with depression. The one thing I don’t see is the connection to coming up with depression after such a wonderful gift has been given to you. You should be happy, right? And I think you would have been if things would have been diagnosed properly. What did they say your depression came from? Important part lies here for I was diagnosed as depressed once myself and I couldn’t figure out why for I felt like things were going pretty good in life. Later I found out how that came to be, I was read depressed by the frown in my forehead. That was there because I was in pain and wasn’t fully aware of it until later when I found out how to get rid of the pain. What I’m getting at is if this didn’t happen until after the baby was born it seems that you could have left the hospital in pain and because nobody diagnosed it correctly you have had to suffer this pain all these years. I’ve helped some women who have had the epidural and come out of that with pain because the muscles got tight or were tight during the injection and they locked there and had to be released. Something that was missed by their dr. completely.
Now you are having other problems, neck pain which is going to lead to your headaches and being tired, for tight muscles in your neck is one way to get very tired out. It slows down the exchange of good and bad products for and from the head and that back up is going to take it’s toll on how you feel. Once you release your neck muscles this should pass. Here is how to release your back and neck muscles which should put you in good shape again, getting rid of unwanted pains caused by tight muscles in these places:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your head. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After 45 seconds, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
With your neck in the lowered position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your head but right next to your skull this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it’s level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
After doing the neck one a couple of times myself, I got rid of the pain there that made them diagnose me with depression. Now when I feel the tension building which is going to become a headache, I press my thumbs into my temples and hold them there a minimum of 30 seconds, or until the tightness passes and I don’t get any headaches and the more I have used that the less frequent the headaches have become.
I hate to say this, but I think you need to see a mental health specialist.
Also keep your questions to the point and not too long as most people are not going to read a lot of babble.
