Should I be concerned about birth defects?
I am 27 years old and 18 weeks pregnant with two miscarriages in the last year. I don’t have any health problems I am aware of, on no medications, take my prenatal vitamins everyday, no family history and have seen my doctor 3 times and heard the heart beat twice. I am having my first ultrasound tomorrow and having anxiety about it. Should I have anything to worry about when it comes to the baby having a birth defect?

No. Miscarriages have nothing to do with whether your children will have birth defects or not. And, you’re still in your twenties so you’re not at high risk for birth defects either.
I don’t think you have anything to worry about
I dont think youre any more likely than anyone else to have a baby with birth defects. Do they run in your family? If not then you probably dont need to worry.
Only worry when they tell you they have found soft markers in the ultrasound. And the tech can not tell you if there is anything wrong, so don’t even ask. Its your doctor that will tell you.
If they have found anything, they will send you for a level 2 Ultrasound where they really look at the baby.
But if everything is fine in your ultrasound, then you have nothing to worry about.
i think everyone worries about their baby having some thing wrong with them but don’t worry about it everything will be fine, even us ttc worry of the possibilities that something can go wrong i think its because we want it so much we are scared it’s to good to be true..
best wishes ur little angel will be just fine..
CONGRATULATIONS…
No, you should be fine. The only thing that may increase your chance is if some type of birth defect runs in your/your hubby’s family. Good Luck and have them print the pictures for you.
